About The Pearcy's of Kentucky
Please sign in to see more.
From The Authenticated Historical Archives one of the earliest references to the Pearcy name dates back in history to the year 1066 and originated in England .There have been various spellings of the name "Pearcy" ie: DePercy, Percy, Piercy. DePercy being of Royalty and I have not trac ked us back to them . and many settled in different locations including foreign shores. I have been sucessful in finding John Pearcy born in Uffculme, Devon, England in 1737. John died on July 28 1834 in Bedford County Virginia .
I dedicate this Family Tree to My Children so that they can pass it down to their children and childrens children.

I have acquired a lot more info on the family. John Pearcy
ran away from home at the age of 14 to be a sailor . He roamed the high seas for 10 years. It is not known where he first settled, but the land grant office
in Richmond, Va records: Thomas Jefferson, Governor of the Commonwealth of Va. where he emassed a large amount of land (400 ) acres and deeded land to each of his children.

The majority of my family has lived in Kentucky ,Lyon, Caldwell and Trigg Counties.
As I continue to get more info I will keep adding to the site. So this is still a
work in progress. I now live just across the border in Tennessee but I still consider Ky my home. This is Feb. 2009 and I'm back home in Ky.

I have searched through names of schools and churches that my parents talked about and little did I know while growing up that one day these would hold fond memories for me. I wish now that I would have asked more questions regarding my ancestors. Now it seems so important for me to dedicate this to my own children so that they will know about their heritage and can pass it down to their own children and their children . Thanks for checking out my Family Tree and Please sign my guestbook and if related please feel free to add any comments that apply to our *Family Tree*.

There are several ways to browse the family tree. The Tree View graphically shows the relationship of selected person to their kin. The Ancestor Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph above and children below. On the right are the parents, grandparents and great-grandparents. The Descendant Chart shows the person you have selected in the left, with the photograph and parents below. On the right are the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Do you know who your second cousins are? Try the Kinship Relationships Tool. Your site can generate various Reports for each name in your family tree. You can select a name from the list on the top-right menu bar.

In addition to the charts and reports you have Photo Albums, the Events list and the Relationships tool. Family photographs are organized in the Photo Index. Each Album's photographs are accompanied by a caption. To enlarge a photograph just click on it. Keep up with the family birthdays and anniversaries in the Events list. Birthdays and Anniversaries of living persons are listed by month. Want to know how you are related to anybody ? Check out the Relationships tool.
